Syntheses, structures and mechanisms of interactions with DNA of two new 20-core silver(I) complexes with different ligands

Xin Yan et al.

Summary: Two different silver(I) complexes with diphenylphosphonic acid as peripheral ligand were synthesized using different solvents. The complexes were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), infrared spectroscopy (IR), elemental analysis (EA), and thermogravimetric analysis (TG). Single crystal X-ray analysis determined the final structure of both complexes. The interaction modes of the complexes with DNA were studied using fluorescence and electrochemical analysis. The results showed that the complex with methanol solvent had a more stable binding with DNA and protein compared to the complex with DMF molecule.
