The enhancement of NIR transparency due to annealing and Mg-doping in CuCrO2 thin films

P. K. Jamshina Sanam et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of post-deposition annealing on the structural and optical properties of CuCrO2 and Mg-doped CuCrO2 thin films. The films were annealed in a Helium atmosphere at 300 degrees C. X-ray diffraction analysis shows a decrease in crystallinity, and Raman studies reveal a reduction in copper defects at interstitial sites with annealing. The NIR wavelength transparency increases, and the Mg-doped annealed film with a thickness of 211 nm achieves a maximum transmission of 72%.

Study of molybdenum oxide optimized hole carrier transport in perovskite solar cells

Shipeng Sun et al.

Summary: This paper describes the introduction of solid particles of molybdenum oxide of a certain particle size dispersed between the perovskite layer/hole transport layer to improve the extraction of hole carriers, resulting in an improved device short-circuit current density. The current density-voltage results showed that the optimal content of molybdenum oxide was 0.5 mg/ml, and the efficiency of the perovskite solar cell at this content was 18.27% with a short-circuit current density of 23.67 mA center dot cm(-2), while the efficiency of the device without molybdenum oxide was 16.97% with a short-circuit current density of 21.84 mA center dot cm(-2). Therefore, this work provides an effective way to improve the efficiency of perovskite solar cells.

A review on the p-type transparent Cu-Cr-O delafossite materials

Marco Moreira et al.

Summary: Transparent conductive oxides (TCOs) are a class of materials that combine high electrical conductivity and optical transparency, and have great potential in transparent electronics applications. Currently, N-type TCOs dominate the applications market, but the lack of a suitable P-type counterpart limits the fabrication of completely transparent active devices. Copper chromium delafossite is a promising material to achieve the desired P-type TCO properties, as it presents an optimal balance between optical and electrical properties.

Summary: In this study, Mg-doped CuCrO2 thin films were investigated, showing that increasing Mg content led to decreased roughness, increased visible light transmittance, enhanced UV light absorption, and increased band gap of CuCrO2, resulting in significantly improved electrical conductivity. Mg doping effectively increased carrier concentration by replacing Cr3+ with Mg2+, making Mg-doped CuCrO2 a promising optoelectronic semiconductor material.
