Flexible composite films of PANI-CSA doped with g-C3N4 were synthesized and their thermoelectric properties were studied. The results showed that at 363K, the power factor of the sample doped with 20wt.% g-C3N4 was about 3 times higher than the pristine sample, which was attributed to the enhanced carrier energy filtering effect at the interfaces of PANI-CSA and g-C3N4.
Polyaniline (PANI) has been considered a promising candidate for flexible thermoelectric devices because of its high electrical conductivity, stability, and lowthermal conductivity. However, the lowSeebeck coefficient impedes its practical application. In this report, we have synthesized flexible composite films of (+/-) Camphor-10-sulfonic acid (CSA) doped PANI (PANI-CSA) with varying concentrations of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) and studied their thermoelectric properties. At 363 K, a power factor of about 3 mu Wm(-1) K-2 in PANI-CSA with 20 wt.% g-C3N4 is obtained, which is about 3 times higher as compared to the pristine PANI-CSA sample. This enhanced power factor is due to the enhanced Seebeck coefficient in this sample due to the enhanced carrier energy filtering effect at the interfaces of the PANI-CSA and g-C3N4.
