Understanding the Preparation and Reactivity of Mo/ZSM-5 Methane Dehydroaromatization Catalysts

Yujie Liu et al.

Summary: This study focused on the mechanism and structural changes of Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts during methane dehydroaromatization reaction using operando X-ray absorption near edge structure spectroscopy. The results showed that the nature of active sites is similar and the ZSM-5 unit cell contracts at the beginning of the reaction, coinciding with benzene formation.

Understanding the Preparation and Reactivity of Mo/ZSM-5 Methane Dehydroaromatization Catalysts

Yujie Liu et al.

Summary: This study focused on the methane dehydroaromatization reaction using Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts, revealing the reduction process of Mo-species and the nature of active sites. Additionally, the study found a correlation between the contraction of the unit cell in the catalysts and the formation of hydrocarbon pool intermediates.

Identification of atomically dispersed Fe-oxo species as new active sites in HZSM-5 for efficient non-oxidative methane dehydroaromatization

Yuebing Xu et al.

Summary: The Fe2+-exchanged HZSM-5 catalyst prepared by ion exchange with stable, soluble, and divalent Fe salt FeSO4 showed significantly higher aromatics formation activity and selectivity at a CH4 conversion of around 15% compared to other Fe/HZSM-5 catalysts. The atomically dispersed Fe-oxo species anchored at framework Al sites were found to be responsible for selectively activating CH4 into CHx species for aromatics' formation. This Fe-based HZSM-5 catalyst demonstrated better catalytic performance due to the ion-exchange method with FeSO4 as the precursor.
