Efficient phonon cascades in WSe2 monolayers

Ioannis Paradisanos et al.

Summary: The study measured the first stages of carrier-phonon interaction in monolayer WSe2, revealing periodic maxima in hot photoluminescence intensity attributed to phonon cascades. The intermediate states in the conduction band at the Lambda-valley of the Brillouin zone are found to participate in the cascade process of tungsten diselenide monolayers.

Twist-angle engineering of excitonic quantum interference and optical nonlinearities in stacked 2D semiconductors

Kai-Qiang Lin et al.

Summary: The authors report a large twist-angle susceptibility of excitons involving upper conduction bands in transition metal dichalcogenide bilayers. These high-lying excitons couple with band-edge excitons, and give rise to nonlinear quantum-optical processes that become tuneable by twisting.

Exciton-polaron Rydberg states in monolayer MoSe2 and WSe2

Erfu Liu et al.

Summary: The study involves measuring the reflection and photoluminescence of monolayer MoSe2 and WSe2 devices to observe gate-tunable exciton polarons. It shows the contradiction between the trion picture and the robust excited states, indicating the presence of exciton-polaron nature in both ground and excited excitonic states in charged monolayer MoSe2 and WSe2.

Narrow-band high-lying excitons with negative-mass electrons in monolayer WSe2

Kai-Qiang Lin et al.

Summary: A new excitonic species, the high-lying exciton (HX), with an energy almost twice the band-edge A-exciton energy, has been discovered in single-layer WSe2. The HX is populated through momentum-selective optical excitation in the K-valleys and can be identified in upconverted photoluminescence in the UV spectral region.

Summary: The study demonstrates efficient spin/valley optical pumping of resident electrons in n-doped WSe2 and WS2 monolayers, achieving large dynamic polarization of resident electrons using circular light with continuous wave laser and appropriate doping and excitation densities.
