Conditional Loss of BAF (mSWI/SNF) Scaffolding Subunits Affects Specification and Proliferation of Oligodendrocyte Precursors in Developing Mouse Forebrain

Eman Abbas et al.

Summary: BAF155 and BAF170 are essential for the generation of oligodendrocytes during brain development. Ablation of BAF155 and BAF170 disrupts oligodendrogenesis in double-conditional knockout mouse mutants, resulting in impaired oligodendrocyte precursor specification and proliferation, and a significant depletion of the oligodendrocyte pool.
