Density matrix renormalization group approach to the low temperature thermodynamics of correlated 1D fermionic models

Sudip Kumar Saha et al.

Summary: The low temperature thermodynamics of correlated 1D fermionic models with spin and charge degrees of freedom is investigated using exact diagonalization and density matrix renormalization group calculations. The method is validated against exact results for different models and the limitations of the method are discussed.

Fractional and composite excitations of antiferromagnetic quantum spin trimer chains

Jun-Qing Cheng et al.

Summary: By using quantum Monte Carlo, exact diagonalization, and perturbation theory, we have studied the spectrum of the S = 1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg trimer chain. We found that the spectrum exhibits different behaviors, including the formation of doublons, quartons, and spinons, as the ratio of the coupling strengths changes. Our results provide a window for further exploration of high-energy fractional excitations.
