Transmission dynamics of Monkeypox virus: a mathematical modelling approach

Olumuyiwa James Peter et al.

Summary: Monkeypox, caused by the monkeypox virus, occurs in remote regions of Central and West Africa near tropical rainforests. A mathematical model was developed to analyze the virus, showing both local and global stability conditions for disease-free and endemic equilibria. The model also reveals the importance of isolating infected individuals to reduce disease transmission.

Fractional order of pneumococcal pneumonia infection model with Caputo Fabrizio operator

Olumuyiwa James Peter et al.

Summary: This study introduces a Pneumococcal Pneumonia infection model using fractional order derivatives in the Caputo-Fabrizio sense. The existence and uniqueness of the solution are proved using fixed-point theory, and the model variables are investigated. The fractional Adams-Bashforth method is employed to calculate an iterative solution, with numerical results presented using the model parameter values.

Waning immunity and potential asymptomatic infection in 3-7 years old children who received one dose of measles-mumps-rubella vaccine: A 4-year prospective study

Yuanbao Liu et al.

Summary: An observational study conducted from 2015 to 2018 on children aged 3-7 years showed that kindergarten and primary school children who only received one dose of MMR were at higher risk of developing mumps. Waning immunity and asymptomatic infection were observed among the participants over the 4-year period.

Direct and indirect transmission of typhoid fever model with optimal control

Olumuyiwa James Peter et al.

Summary: This paper analyzed a model for direct and indirect transmission dynamics of typhoid fever with three control interventions, proposing optimal control strategies to minimize disease burden and intervention cost. The existence and uniqueness of optimal control paths were proved, and these paths were obtained analytically using Pontryagin's Maximum Principle. Numerical analysis showed that the implementation of all three controls was most successful in reducing the threat of typhoid fever.
