Charcoal Prepared from Bougainvillea spectabilis Leaves as Low Cost Adsorbent: Kinetic and Equilibrium Studies for Removal of Iron from Aqueous Solution

Arif Nazir et al.

Summary: Biosorption is an effective technique for removing metals from aqueous solutions/industrial effluents. The study used Bougainvillea spectabilis leaves to produce activated charcoal for the removal of iron metal, showing promising efficiency in adsorption. Maximum adsorption was observed with specific conditions such as pH, contact time, and adsorbent dose, with the adsorbate following Langmuir isothermal model and pseudo second order kinetic model.

CuO-bentonite-gold nanocomposites: Facile green preparation and their characterization

Dewangga Oky Bagus Apriandanu et al.

Summary: In this study, a facile green synthesis method for CuO-bentonite-gold nanocomposites was designed using pillarization-immobilization. CuO was successfully pillared in bentonite with Tinospora crispa leaf extract, and gold nanoparticles were immobilized in the interlayer. The dspacing value of CuO-bentonite indicated successful pillarization, and the formation of AuNPs in the interlayer was confirmed by XRD and EDX.
