Effect of NP shapes on Fe3O4 - Ag/kerosene and Fe3O4 - Ag/water hybrid nanofluid flow in suction/injection process with nonlinear-thermal-radiation and slip condition; Hamilton and Crosser's model

D. O. Soumya et al.

Summary: This study examines the flow and thermal properties of Fe3O4 Ag/water and Fe3O4 - Ag/kerosene hybrid nanofluids in a horizontal microchannel. The effects of nonlinear thermal radiation, heat source coefficient, convective and slip boundary conditions on nanofluids in a microchannel have been studied. The impact of different nanoparticle shape factors on the temperature of nanofluids has also been analysed. The results reveal that the spherical and lamina shape factors have the greatest difference for both water and kerosene-based hybrid nanofluids, with water-based nanofluids having higher velocity. The thermal energy of both nanofluids is higher in the lower channel plate, and the flow rate increases towards the upper channel wall. Thermal energy and entropy generation decrease with increasing temperature parameter.

Impact of Stefan blowing and magnetic dipole on bio-convective flow of Maxwell nanofluid over a stretching sheet

A. Alhadhrami et al.

Summary: This study investigates the relationship between thermal distribution, magnetic field, and fluid flow of Maxwell liquid over a stretching sheet, and finds that Newtonian liquid exhibits higher heat transfer compared to non-Newtonian liquid under increased Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameters. Additionally, an increase in Peclet number decreases the rate of gyrotactic microorganisms, while an increase in Brownian and thermophoresis motion parameters reduces the rate of heat transfer.

Impact of magnetic dipole on thermophoretic particle deposition in the flow of Maxwell fluid over a stretching sheet

R. Naveen Kumar et al.

Summary: The impact of thermophoretic particle deposition and magnetic dipole in the flow of Maxwell liquid over a stretching sheet is explored in this analysis. The modelling equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations, which are then numerically solved using the Runge Kutta Fehlberg 45 process with shooting technique. The study discusses the effects of relevant parameters on flow fields, heat and mass transfer, and various other parameters using graphical representations.

Dual solutions for Casson hybrid nanofluid flow due to a stretching/shrinking sheet: A new combination of theoretical and experimental models

Seyed Mahdi Mousavi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the two-dimensional MHD Casson flow past a linearly stretching/shrinking sheet with suction, radiation, and convective boundary condition effects by employing experimental relations to approximate the effective thermophysical properties of a water/MgO-Ag hybrid nanofluid. It also considers dual solutions and stability analysis, demonstrating the importance of selective experimental relations in future numerical modeling of hybrid nanofluids. Results show an enhancement of the Casson fluid parameter range with increasing radiation parameter, suction parameter, and second nanoparticle mass, as well as the acceleration of similarity velocity profiles in the hydrodynamic boundary layer due to a magnetic field applied normal to the sheet.

Apostolos A. Gkountas et al.

Summary: This study investigates the use of Al2O3-water nanofluid in a printed-circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) as a precooler for S-CO2 Brayton cycles. The findings show that a maximum nanoparticle volume fraction of 5% results in a 75% improvement in heat transfer coefficient, a 1% reduction in heat exchanger length, and an 8% increase in pressure drop. Additionally, an increase in nanoparticle radius reduces effective thermal conductivity, while a nanolayer thickness of 2 nm improves heat transfer coefficient by 43% compared to 0.5 nm.
