Assessing the contribution of urban green spaces in green infrastructure strategy planning for urban ecosystem conditions and services

On Yi Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the contribution of using urban green space components as the basic units in green infrastructure strategy planning for urban ecosystem conditions and services. Through a case study of Cheltenham, a new approach for developing local green infrastructure strategy for urban ecosystem conditions in facing global climate change is presented. The results suggest that changing the composition and spatial arrangement of urban green space components can stimulate synergy or trade-off of various services easily.

Nature-Based Solutions or Debacles? The Politics of Reflexive Governance for Sustainable and Just Cities

Alexander P. N. van der Jagt et al.

Summary: The study found reflexive processes in nature-based solutions in Utrecht, Malmo, and Utsunomiya, but justice considerations were not always fully taken into account or positively influenced. Urban nature-based solution initiatives are partially dependent on the power structures they seek to influence for their continued existence.
