(3-Aminopropyl) Triethoxysilane (APTES) Functionalized Magnetic Nanosilica Graphene Oxide (MGO) Nanocomposite for the Comparative Adsorption of the Heavy Metal [Pb(II), Cd(II) and Ni(II)] Ions from Aqueous Solution

Cabangani Donga et al.

Summary: In this study, magnetic graphene oxide was synthesized and used for the adsorption of three heavy metals. The magnetic graphene oxide was prepared by coupling magnetic nanosilica with graphene oxide using (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane as a functionalizing agent. The experimental results showed that the Fe3O4@SiO2-NH2/GO nanoadsorbents exhibited excellent adsorption performance and stability.

Room temperature photocatalytic deposition of Au nanoparticles on SnS2 nanoplates for enhanced photocatalysis

Fen Zhang et al.

Summary: A series of SnS2/Au nanocomposites with excellent photocatalytic properties were synthesized by photocatalytic deposition of Au nanoparticles on the surface of SnS2 nanoplates. The most active nanocomposite, SnS2/Au-1.0%, showed efficient and stable photocatalytic performance in the reduction of Cr(VI) and degradation of MO under visible light irradiation, attributed to its efficient separation and transfer of photo-generated electrons and holes. The mechanisms of photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction and MO degradation by SnS2/Au-1.0% were also explored.

Adsorption Performance of Amino Functionalized Magnetic Molecular Sieve Adsorbent for Effective Removal of Lead Ion from Aqueous Solution

Chuanen Guo et al.

Summary: This study focused on the preparation of NH2-CoFe2O4/SBA-15 adsorbent for effective removal of Pb2+ from aqueous solution. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms were studied, showing that adsorption followed pseudo-first-order kinetics and Freundlich model. Thermodynamic investigations revealed that the adsorption process was endothermic and spontaneous. The prepared adsorbent exhibited superior anti-interference performance and reusability, indicating potential for practical water treatment applications. This research may also serve as a reference for the study of other heavy metal ions.
