Impact of intravesical instillation of a novel biological response modifier (P-MAPA) on progress of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer treatment in a rat model

Wagner J. Favaro et al.

Summary: This work investigates the effects of immunotherapy with Protein Aggregate Magnesium-Ammonium Phospholinoleate-Palmitoleate Anhydride (P-MAPA) on non-muscle invasive bladder cancer in an animal model. Results show that P-MAPA intravesical treatment is more effective than Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) treatment in histopathological recovery from cancer state. The study also reveals increased levels of c-Myc, COUP-TFII, and wild-type p53 proteins in P-MAPA-treated rats compared to BCG-treated rats, suggesting an enhanced apoptotic response. These findings highlight the potential of P-MAPA as a new strategy for treating non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.

Effects of combined OncoTherad immunotherapy and probiotic supplementation on modulating the chronic inflammatory process in colorectal carcinogenesis

Sabrina Karen Reis et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of combined OncoTherad immunotherapy and probiotic supplementation on chemically induced colorectal carcinogenesis in mice. The results showed that this combination therapy could modulate weight loss, stimulate signaling pathways, reduce proliferation mediated by oncogenes, and stimulate the production of immune factors. These findings provide a potential new therapeutic approach for colorectal cancer.

Safety and Efficacy of OncoTherad Nano-immunotherapy in Patients with Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

J. C. C. Alonso et al.

Summary: OncoTherad nano-immunotherapy shows promising results in treating BCG-refractory and/or intravesical chemotherapy-relapsed NMIBC patients, with high complete response rates and relatively low toxicity levels. Activation of Toll-like Receptor 4 pathway by OncoTherad may contribute to antitumor and immunoprotective effects in bladder tissue.
