Naphthalimide appended isoquinoline fluorescent probe for specific detection of Al3+ ions and its application in living cell imaging

Haiyan Xu et al.

Summary: The novel fluorescent probe NIQ based on naphthalimide and iso-quinoline units is prepared for the selective detection of Al3+ ions with high sensitivity. The 1:1 complexation of NIQ with Al3+ is supported by density functional theory and NMR experiments. This probe serves as a biomarker for imaging Al3+ ions in living cells.

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, novel dual-targeting fluorescent probes were developed by modifying imidazole and galactose. These probes showed high selectivity and sensitivity towards Fe3+ and exhibited excellent hepatic targeting capacity and lysosome-targeting capacities. They have the potential to be used for precise diagnosis and treatment of liver lysosomal iron-related diseases.

A turn-on red-emitting fluorescent probe for determination of copper(II) ions in food samples and living zebrafish

Zile Zhou et al.

Summary: A turn-on red-emitting fluorescent probe was developed for the sensitive and selective detection of copper ions (Cu2+) in food samples and living zebrafish. The probe exhibited high sensitivity, excellent selectivity, and broad linear relationship for Cu2+, with low limit of detection. Additionally, it showed satisfactory analytical performance with actual food samples and could be used for in situ determination of Cu2+ in living plant tissues and zebrafish.

Mitochondria and lysosome-targetable fluorescent probes for hydrogen peroxide

Yongchun Wei et al.

Summary: Hydrogen peroxide, a key member of reactive oxygen species, regulates physiological processes like cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration. Abnormal production of H2O2 can lead to diseases. Various fluorescent probes for H2O2 detection at the subcellular level, including those targeting mitochondria and lysosomes, have been developed and utilized.
