Multifunctionalized Hydrogel Beads for Label-Free Chemiluminescence Imaging Immunoassay of Acute Myocardial Infarction Biomarkers

Fang Li et al.

Summary: In this study, multifunctional hydrogel beads with intense and multicolor chemiluminescence (CL) were successfully prepared and applied for label-free CL imaging immunoassays. Two different types of hydrogel beads were synthesized, both exhibiting high stability and easy operability. The hydrogel bead-based immunoassay method showed high sensitivity and specificity in the determination of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) biomarkers, with linear ranges and low detection limits. The results demonstrate the potential of these hydrogel beads as universal platforms for a wide range of CL immunoassays.

Platinum Janus Nanoparticles as Peroxidase Mimics for Catalytic Immunosorbent Assay

Lei Li et al.

Summary: In this study, highly efficient peroxidase mimic nanoparticles, called Pt Janus NPs, were developed. Pt Janus NPs demonstrated significantly improved catalytic efficiency compared to traditional Pt nanoparticles and HRP. The silica component in Pt Janus NPs effectively adsorbed intermediates during the catalysis process, leading to enhanced catalytic efficiency. Additionally, the unique structure of Pt Janus NPs protected catalytic sites, further enhancing catalytic efficiency. Pt Janus NPs also exhibited a high signal strength in direct immunoassay.

Development of quinone linked immunosorbent assay (QuLISA) based on using Folin's reagent as a non-enzymatic tag: Application to analysis of food allergens

Mahmoud El-Maghrabey et al.

Summary: Enzyme-labeled immunoassays are widely used for trace analysis of clinically significant compounds. However, utilizing enzymes for labeling antibodies can lead to problems such as low reproducibility and inhibition of antigen-antibody reaction. In this study, we used quinones as stable non-enzymatic tags and developed a simple, stable, sensitive, and cost-effective approach for labeling immunoassays. We successfully developed a quinone-linked immunosorbent assay (QuLISA) for detecting food allergens, which showed good linearity and high sensitivity.
