The incidences of metachronous multiple gastric cancer after various types of gastrectomy: analysis of data from a nationwide Japanese survey

Summary: This study evaluated the incidences of metachronous multiple gastric cancer (MMGC) after different types of gastrectomy, showing higher incidences after function-preserving gastrectomy than after other types of gastrectomy. Additionally, a higher proportion of MMGC cases could be treated using endoscopic submucosal dissection after proximal gastrectomy and function-preserving gastrectomy compared to distal gastrectomy.
