Insight into the Growth Mechanism and Photocatalytic Behavior of Tubular Hierarchical ZnO Structures: An Integrated Experimental and Theoretical Approach

Ankica Saric et al.

Summary: Hydrothermal synthesis of ZnO particles was carried out in pure aqueous solution and aqueous NaOH solution. The presence of NaOH affected the growth mechanism and photocatalytic performance of ZnO structures. The formation of ZnO nanostructures was influenced by the interaction through O-H hydrogen bonds in different solutions.

Preparation of Pd/PdO@ZnO-ZnO nanorods by using metal organic framework templated catalysts for selective detection of triethylamine

Lanlan Guo et al.

Summary: Sensors based on Pd/PdO@ZnO-ZnO nanorods exhibit enhanced performance in detecting triethylamine gas, with improved sensitivity, detection limit, and working temperature, compared to traditional impregnation methods. This is mainly attributed to the modulation of sensor base resistance and the catalytic and spillover effect of PdO and ultra-small Pd.

Summary: The use of PIM-1 in sequential infiltration synthesis allows for the fabrication of highly porous AlOx coatings with excellent mechanical properties. These coatings can be used as single-layer ARCs or graded-index double-layered coatings to significantly reduce Fresnel reflections, showing high hardness and scratch resistivity.

Vapor-Phase-Infiltrated AlOx/PIM-1 Hybrid Scaffolds as Solution-Processable Amine Supports for CO2 Adsorption

Fengyi Zhang et al.

Summary: PEI/AlOx/PIM-1 composites are a promising alternative with processibility, comparable CO2 capacity, and high amine efficiency. This composite is fabricated into structured adsorption contactors using PIM-1, and then reinforced with amorphous aluminum oxyhydroxide (AlOx) nanostrands via VPI. The resulting AlOx/PIM-1 is a stable, hierarchically porous support that can be loaded with 40% PEI without pore collapse.
