Independent gradient model based on Hirshfeld partition: A new method for visual study of interactions in chemical systems

Tian Lu et al.

Summary: The powerful independent gradient model (IGM) method has limitations in graphically studying weak interactions. In this article, an improved version of IGM, called IGM based on Hirshfeld partition (IGMH), is proposed to overcome the shortcomings. The rigorous physical background of IGMH is demonstrated through various application examples, showcasing its important value in intuitively understanding interactions in chemical systems.

Linear and Nonlinear Photon-Induced Cross Bridge/Space Charge Transfer in STC Molecular Crystals

Chen Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, we theoretically investigated the optical absorption properties of a layer-stacked cocrystal heterogeneous material (STC). The highly ordered aggregate structure in the cocrystal leads to significant charge transfer characteristics and large cross-sectional two-photon absorption characteristics, which are of great importance for the design of organic photoelectric functional materials.

Intermolecular interaction characteristics of the all-carboatomic ring, cyclo[18]carbon: Focusing on molecular adsorption and stacking

Zeyu Liu et al.

Summary: The research found that cyclo[18]carbon has a strong tendency to adsorb small molecules in its condensed phase, where dispersion attraction plays a leading role in binding interactions and the electrostatic effect also influences the configuration of molecular complexes. Additionally, two cyclo[18]carbon molecules can form a stable dimer through pi-pi stacking effect.
