Efficiency enhancement of photocatalytic activity under UV and visible light irradiation using ZnO/Fe3O4 heteronanostructures

One-pot in-situ hydrothermal synthesis of ternary In2S3/Nb2O5/Nb2C Schottky/S-scheme integrated heterojunction for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production

Summary: MXene-derived photocatalysts have the potential for developing photo-driven green and sustainable fuel production, but their efficiency is currently low. In this study, a ternary photocatalyst derived from Nb2C MXene was synthesized, leading to improved efficiency and stability in photocatalytic hydrogen production. The optimized ternary photocatalyst composite exhibited the highest H-2 evolution efficiency and maintained high activity after multiple cycles.

Simultaneous hydrogen production with the selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde by a noble-metal-free photocatalyst VC/CdS nanowires

Summary: In this study, CdS nanowires were combined with vanadium carbide using a specific method, and it was found that the photocatalytic activity of the CdS nanowires was significantly enhanced when loaded with vanadium carbide, especially for simultaneous production of H2 and selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol into benzaldehyde. Additionally, the vanadium carbide loading also reduced the recombination rate of hydrogen and benzaldehyde. The results of this study demonstrate the importance of this method in achieving commercialization of photocatalytic hydrogen production.

Effects of synthesis conditions on structure and magnetic properties of MnFe2O4 particles

Summary: Manganese ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized using a coprecipitation method, with annealing conditions affecting crystalline quality and magnetic properties differently. Annealing in argon significantly improved crystalline quality and saturation magnetization, leading to higher efficiency under sunlight irradiation in the presence of hydrogen peroxide.

Novel 3D hierarchical nanostructure of Fe3O4/ZnO hybrid composites for enhanced solar light photocatalytic performance

Summary: In this study, 3D hierarchical Fe3O4/ZnO hybrid nanostructures were synthesized to enhance the solar light photodegradation activity and magnetic reusability of the ZnO semiconductor. The nanostructures exhibited high specific surface area, redshift light absorption, and good magnetic response, leading to effective degradation of RhB under simulated solar light irradiation. The potential mechanism for the photodegradation process was proposed based on the unique characteristics of the 3D Fe3O4/ZnO HSt.

Elaboration of Fe3O4/ZnO nanocomposite with highly performance photocatalytic activity for degradation methylene blue under visible light irradiation

Summary: Fe3O4/ZnO nanocomposites were synthesized by the solid-state method using different ratios of zinc oxide and iron oxide. The nanocomposites exhibited significant Raman shifts and quenching in PL intensity due to the strong incorporation of ZnO with Fe3O4. The photocatalytic activities of the nanocomposites showed enhanced degradation efficiency of methylene blue under visible light, with a stable catalytic performance over multiple cycles.

Summary: By constructing a ZnO-ZnS heterojunction with an excess amount of zinc vacancies, the separation efficiency of charge carriers can be improved; at the same time, zinc vacancies provide effective anchor sites for obtaining highly dispersed Pt single atom catalysts; the introduction of Pt single atoms promotes novel type-V electron transport and enhances photocatalytic performance.

The formation mechanism of MSCSFZ was proposed, with controllable morphology and bandgap. Furthermore, MSCSFZ showed excellent visible-light photocatalytic activity and maintained its performance after multiple cycles.
