Rhamnolipid-assisted black phosphorus nanosheets with efficient isolinderalactone loading against drug resistant Helicobacter pylori

Yanqiang Huang et al.

Summary: This study engineered a multifunctional nanodrug, RHL@BP, for the treatment of drug resistant H. pylori infection. The nanodrug efficiently delivered ISL, an active compound from traditional Chinese medicine, to enhance its antibacterial effect against drug resistant H. pylori under near-infrared irradiation. The controlled release of ISL triggered by the acid sensitivity of BP and photothermal instability of RHL exhibited significant synergistic antibacterial activity against drug resistant H. pylori. The study demonstrates a potential strategy for the clinical treatment of drug resistant H. pylori infections.

Construction of emissive ruthenium(II) metallacycle over 1000 nm wavelength for in vivo biomedical applications

Yuling Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, a Ru(II) metallacycle with long-wavelength emission was rationally designed for deep optical penetration and enhanced chemo-phototherapy activity in vivo. The metallacycle exhibited prominent anticancer capability against various cancer cell lines, especially cisplatin-resistant cells, through inducing cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Precise NIR-II fluorescence imaging guided and long-term monitored chemo-phototherapy was achieved with minimal side effects in A549 tumor model.
