Use of facial stereophotogrammetry as a screening tool for pediatric obstructive sleep apnea by dental specialists

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of facial 3-dimensional (3D) stereophotogrammetry as a screening tool for pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) when used by dental specialists. The results showed that the accuracy of OSA classification was low when only 3D facial stereophotogrammetry was used or when it was combined with the Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire and Craniofacial Index. Certain craniofacial traits may influence the classification of pediatric OSA by dental specialists.
