The resulting CdS/CdO hybrids were used as sensitive materials for H2S gas sensors, exhibiting high sensitivity, ppb-level limit of detection, and excellent selectivity.

Preparation and immobilization of Bi2WO6/BiOI/g-C3N4 nanoparticles for the photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline and municipal waste transfer station leachate

Summary: Bi2WO6/BiOI/g-C3N4 nanoparticles embedded in g-C3N4 were immobilized using PTFE as adhesive agent and H3BO3 as pore-forming agent. The immobilized photocatalyst showed higher photocatalytic performance, enhanced light absorption and better electron/hole separation. The immobilized photocatalyst exhibited significant activity and stability, degrading tetracycline with a rate of over 90% within 120 minutes and MWTS leachate with COD removal rate of 56.1% and TOC removal rate of 50.4% within 28 hours. Additionally, the biodegradability of the solutions was improved after photocatalytic degradation.

Degradation of tetracycline using persulfate activated by a honeycomb structured S-doped g-C3N4/biochar under visible light

Summary: A novel S-doped g-C3N4/biochar nanocomposite was prepared for the visible light-induced activation of persulfate to degrade tetracycline. The photocatalytic efficiency of this nanocomposite was 2.34 and 2.32 times higher than that of individual biochar and g-C3N4, respectively. The enhanced activity was attributed to the unique honeycomb tubular structure that facilitated electron transfer and the electron reservoir effect of biochar.

The extraordinary Z-scheme charge transfer manner plays a dominant role in accelerating charge carrier separation and retaining powerful redox ability, while the porous sheet-like nanostructures and oxygen doping positively influence the activity by improving light harvesting, providing plentiful active sites, shortening charge carrier migration distance, and facilitating charge carrier separation.

CuO/g-C3N4 2D/2D heterojunction photocatalysts as efficient peroxymonosulfate activators under visible light for oxytetracycline degradation: Characterization, efficiency and mechanism

Summary: In this work, a CuO/g-C3N4 2D/2D heterojunction photocatalyst was designed to degrade oxytetracycline (OTC) by activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS) under visible light irradiation. The catalyst showed almost 100% degradation efficiency towards OTC in 10 minutes, and also effectively degraded other antibiotics. Through investigation of experimental conditions, stability evaluation, and analysis of reactive oxygen species, the mechanism and pathway of OTC degradation were explored in depth. This work provides valuable insights for developing efficient g-C3N4-based photocatalytic technology for antibiotic removal from the environment.

The synergistic effect between SnS2 and phosphotungstic acid in suppressing carrier recombination was observed, leading to 1.5 times higher efficiency in arsenic removal compared to systems without phosphotungstic acid. The formation of As-POMs also facilitated simultaneous As(III) photooxidation and As(V) coprecipitation, significantly increasing the arsenic adsorption capacity.
