MXene quantum dots decorated Ni nanoflowers for efficient Cr(VI) reduction

Yali Guo et al.

Summary: Nickel@MXene quantum dots (Ni@MQDs) were successfully prepared and showed outstanding catalytic performance for Cr (VI) reduction in the presence of formic acid. Density functional theory calculations revealed that Ni@MQDs exhibited an upshift of D-band center of active Ni atoms, leading to improved catalytic reaction kinetics. This work may pave the way for the design and synthesis of novel MQDs-based hybrid catalysts for wastewater treatment.

Porphyrin-based covalent triazine framework and its carbonized derivative as catalyst scaffold of Au and Ag nanoparticles for 4-nitrophenol reduction

Jie Liu et al.

Summary: Porous carbon material (C-PCTF) with nitrogen doping was synthesized by using porphyrin-based covalent triazine framework (PCTF) as the precursor. The obtained C-PCTF retained the porous structure and chemical composition of PCTF. The carbon material was used as a substrate to immobilize Au and Ag nanoparticles, and both Au@C-PCTF and Ag@C-PCTF nanocatalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activity in the reduction of 4-nitrophenol. Ag@C-PCTF showed higher catalytic activity compared to most previously reported metal catalysts. This study provides a new strategy for the fabrication of carbon-supported heterogeneous catalysts using various porous organic polymers.
