Performance variables associated with bicycle configuration and flexibility

Wendy Holliday et al.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between power production, bicycle configuration, and flexibility in male cyclists. The results showed significant correlations between performance and hamstring flexibility, handlebar drop, saddle setback, and ankle plantarflexion. Improving a cyclist's flexibility and ability to adopt an anteriorly rotated pelvis and lower handlebar height may enhance cycling performance.
