Reflection Characteristics Measurements of Indoor Wireless Link in D-Band

Mingxu Wang et al.

Summary: This paper presents a modified reflection model based on reflection measurements in the D-band for indoor wireless communication systems. The results indicate a gradual decrease in reflection coefficients and relative permittivity, with a slight increase in surface roughness. It is also discovered that reflection characteristics are influenced by factors beyond surface roughness.

Sub-Terahertz Channel Measurements and Characterization in a Factory Building

Shihao Ju et al.

Summary: This paper presents recent sub-THz channel measurements in a factory building using directional horn antennas. The results show that dual-polarized antenna arrays can provide good multiplexing gain for sub-THz wireless systems. The rich-scattering environment in the factory scenario, due to a massive number of metal structures and objects, is important for future smart factory applications like super-resolution sensing and positioning.

Millimeter Wave and Sub-Terahertz Spatial Statistical Channel Model for an Indoor Office Building

Shihao Ju et al.

Summary: This study presents an indoor 3-D spatial statistical channel model for mmWave and sub-THz frequencies based on extensive radio propagation measurements at 28 and 140 GHz. The resulting channel statistics show that the number of time clusters follows a Poisson distribution and the number of subpaths within each cluster follows a composite exponential distribution. A unified indoor statistical channel model for mmWave and sub-Terahertz frequencies is proposed, and a corresponding indoor channel simulator is developed for future air-interface, beamforming, and transceiver designs in 6G and beyond.

140 GHz Channel Measurement and Characterization in an Office Room

Yi Chen et al.

Summary: This paper conducts a wideband channel measurement campaign between 130 GHz and 143 GHz for THz communications, analyzing the channel parameters and NLoS multipath component propagation characteristics in an office room. The results show that in the office environment, multipath components reflected from partitions dominate in NLoS propagation.

Material Characterization and Radio Channel Modeling at D-Band Frequencies

Brecht De Beelde et al.

Summary: This paper presents the results of a comprehensive characterization of sub-THz radio channels, showing frequency selectivity and periodic variation of penetration and reflection losses. The channel model in the conference room indicates that the signal mainly experiences Line-of-Sight path and first-order reflections, with extremely sparse multipath components.

Summary: The paper discusses quasi-static spatio-temporal channel sounding campaigns at 140 GHz band in two indoor hotspot scenarios, finding good match between estimated omni-directional large-scale parameters and 3GPP NR channel model despite differences in scenarios and radio frequency range; larger deviation between estimated parameters and 3GPP NR channel model in airport than in shopping mall.

Ultra-Wideband Double Directional Channel Measurements for THz Communications in Urban Environments

Naveed A. Abbasi et al.

Summary: The study reveals a rich multipath environment in wireless communications in the THz frequency range in urban settings, where building materials have a significant impact on multipath propagation. It suggests that relying on pronounced sparsity for THz system design may not always be effective in such environments.
