Short-term electric power load forecasting using random forest and gated recurrent unit

Venkataramana Veeramsetty et al.

Summary: This paper develops an efficient machine learning model for estimating electric power load using GRU and RF. The lightweight GRU model, which combines accuracy with reduced computation time and memory space, is proposed for the first time for short load forecasting and performs well in a stochastic environment.

A segmented load spectrum model for high-speed trains and its inflection stress as an indicator for line quality

Zheng Yuan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the characteristics of load spectra in the bogie frame of a high-speed train through long-term field tests, revealing a segmented feature and proposing a new segmented Weibull distribution model. The inflection stress in this model can be used to describe line quality, indicating potential applications in other dynamic systems where fatigue failure is significant.

Fault diagnosis on the bearing of traction motor in high-speed trains based on deep learning

Yingyong Zou et al.

Summary: The novel fault diagnosis method proposed in this paper utilizes discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and improved deep belief network (DBN) to extract vibration signals from faulty bearings, generate a two-dimensional time-frequency map, preprocess the map, and apply deep learning to identify the correlation between fault features and fault types. The method achieves semi-supervised diagnosis of bearing faults in traction motors of high-speed trains and outperforms contrastive methods like backpropagation neural network (BPNN) and support vector machine (SVM) in terms of diagnosis accuracy.

Li-ion battery temperature estimation based on recurrent neural networks

YuHeng Jiang et al.

Summary: The study proposes using two types of recurrent neural networks to estimate the surface temperature of lithium-ion batteries under different ambient temperatures, showing that the two RNNs can achieve accurate real-time battery temperature estimation with a maximum temperature estimation error of approximately 0.75 degrees Celsius and a correlation coefficient greater than 0.95 between estimated and measured temperature curves.
