A new data generation approach with modified Wasserstein auto-encoder for rotating machinery fault diagnosis with limited fault data

Ke Zhao et al.

Summary: Limited fault data hinder the application of deep learning methods in solving fault diagnosis problems in rotating machinery. This study proposes a new data generation approach using a modified Wasserstein auto-encoder to generate highly similar data. The approach introduces the sliced Wasserstein distance to measure distribution difference and incorporates a squeeze-and-excitation attention mechanism to extract representative features from limited data. The experimental results demonstrate its excellent data generation capability.

Recursive variational mode extraction and its application in rolling bearing fault diagnosis

Bin Pang et al.

Summary: Variational mode extraction (VME) is developed based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) to effectively separate a specific mode from a multi-component signal by knowing an approximate center frequency. This method shows potential for extracting fault characteristics of rolling bearing, but determining the center frequency and penalty factor adaptively are difficult problems. Recursive variational mode extraction (RVME) is proposed as an iterative VME-based signal decomposition algorithm that adaptively determines the initial center frequency and penalty factor at each iteration, making it an adaptive signal decomposition algorithm.

Phase locking of ultra-low power consumption stochastic magnetic bits induced by colored noise

Zhiqiang Liao et al.

Summary: Colored noise can affect the phase-locking characteristics of superparamagnetic tunnel junctions (STJs). Colored noise with power spectral density proportional to frequency can enhance synchronization, while colored noise with power spectral density inversely proportional to frequency can suppress synchronization.

Nonlinear resonance decomposition for weak signal detection

Zijian Qiao et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the behavior of coupling stochastic resonance subject to specific noise and periodic signals, optimizing it through the residence-time ratio. By using nonlinear resonance decomposition, weak unknown multi-frequency signals embedded in strong noise were successfully enhanced and detected, with the method outperforming empirical mode decomposition in the experiment.

Research on fault detection of asymmetric piecewise well-posed stochastic resonance system

Gang Zhang et al.

Summary: The research investigates stochastic resonance in an asymmetric piecewise well-posed system driven by periodic forcing and Gaussian white noise. The study aims to improve the output saturation of the classical stochastic resonance system by reducing the dimensionality of the quartic function and making the function asymmetric. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations show that the system performs better in a well-posed asymmetric case compared to the CSR system and even the well-posed symmetric case.

Yong He et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new method for identifying fault types based on a parameter-adaptive MCKD method. By improving the adaptive variational mode decomposition and constructing weighted envelope entropy, this method demonstrates strong adaptability in fault signal identification and denoising compared to other adaptive techniques.

Summary: The study proposes a method to identify and remove speed non-synchronous components in rotating machinery signals, using order spectrum and Vold-Kalman filter for signal decomposition. This approach proves to be more effective in fault diagnosis of rotating machinery compared to conventional methods.
