Estimation and Selection for High-Order Markov Chains with Bayesian Mixture Transition Distribution Models

Matthew Heiner et al.

Summary: A mixture model and diagnostic were developed for Bayesian estimation and selection in high-order, discrete-state Markov chains. The model extends the mixture transition distribution and the diagnostic yields a general and interpretable mixture decomposition for transition probability tensors. The utility of the model and diagnostic were demonstrated through simulation studies and application to real data.

High-Order Structure Exploration on Massive Graphs: A Local Graph Clustering Perspective

Dawei Zhou et al.

Summary: Modeling and exploring high-order connectivity patterns, also known as network motifs, are crucial for understanding complex systems. Existing graph clustering methods often struggle with the computational cost of modeling high-order structures. The proposed HOSGRAP algorithm effectively clusters graphs while preserving high-order structures, demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness across various types of graphs in real-world applications.

Reliability assessment of CubeSat nanosatellites flight software by high-order Markov chains

Vitaliy Yakovyna et al.

Summary: This paper presents an approach to software reliability assessment using high-order Markov chains on an example of CubeSat nanosatellites flight software. The simulation results show that high-order Markov chains can increase the accuracy of the failure rate assessment up to 50%. The usage of high-order reliability models is essential for accurate and reliable evaluation of software reliability and safety.
