Construction of a tandem S-scheme GDY/CuI/CdS-R heterostructure based on morphology-regulated graphdiyne (g-CnH2n-2) for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Zhiliang Jin et al.

Summary: Graphdiyne (GDY), as a new two-dimensional carbon hybrid material, has garnered attention for its good conductivity, adjustable electronic structure, and unique electron transfer enhancement properties, showing great potential in the field of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution by water splitting. This study successfully prepared GDY using the cross-coupling method and obtained 0.05CIGCS-R with excellent photocatalytic performance through morphology modulation. The photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rates of 0.05CIGCS-R were significantly higher than those of pure GDY and CdS-R, showcasing the promising application of GDY in photocatalysis and the construction of a tandem S-scheme heterojunction.

Engineering a NiAl-LDH/CoSx S-Scheme heterojunction for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Yanan Liu et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel strategy to enhance photocatalytic water splitting through the construction of a CoSx/NiAl-LDH heterojunction. The unique three-dimensional structure of NiAl-LDH promotes the growth of CoSx and facilitates the transfer of photogenerated electrons, while maintaining the strong oxidation ability of the holes. The hydrogen production rate of the CoSx/NiAl-LDH heterojunction is significantly higher compared to individual CoSx and NiAl-LDH.
