On reliability analysis of a load-sharing k-out-of-n: G system with interacting Markov subsystems

Bei Wu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the dependency in the design stage of multi-component manufacturing systems, using a load-sharing k-out-of-n:G system model to compare the reliability performance of independent subsystems and interdependent subsystems. The transition rate matrix of the system is calculated based on the sum of the subsystem's transition rate matrix and the stochastic dependency matrix, and closed-form formulas for reliability indexes are obtained using the theory of aggregated stochastic processes.

Optimal component sequence in heterogeneous 1-out-of-N mixed RRAPs

Pardis Pourkarim Guilani et al.

Summary: This study revisits the reliability-redundancy allocation problem, proposes a mixed redundancy strategy that can be applied to different types of components, and uses a Markov-based model to reduce computation costs. Experimental results show that the proposed method increases system reliability without increasing system cost or volume.

Condition-based optimization of non-identical inspection intervals for a k-out-of-n load sharing system with hybrid mixed redundancy strategy

Mani Sharifi et al.

Summary: This paper aims to minimize the expected daily inspection cost of a load-sharing system with identical components through optimizing the utilization of components and the duration of inspection intervals. A new heuristic algorithm and a genetic algorithm are used to optimize the model, and the results show that the model can reduce the cost by a maximum of 64.89% compared to other existing strategies.

The lost capacity by the weighted k-out-of-n system upon system failure

Serkan Eryilmaz et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the lost capacity by the weighted-k-out-of-n. system when it fails, which is useful for making optimal decisions about spare capacity. The distribution of this random quantity and theoretical results are derived and illustrated for a power system consisting of a specified number of generating units.

Reliability evaluation of a k-out-of-n(G)-subsystem based multi-state phased mission system with common bus performance sharing subjected to common cause failures

Chen Cheng et al.

Summary: A new reliability model for Multi-state Phased Mission Systems with redundant subsystems and performance sharing subject to Common Cause Failures (CCFs) is proposed in this study. The model utilizes Markov chain analysis and a Binary Indicator Universal Generating Function (BIUGF) method to evaluate system reliability. The effectiveness of the model is validated through applications to power supply systems.
