Simplified Synthesis of Fluoride-Free Ti3C2Tx via Electrochemical Etching toward High- Performance Electrochemical Capacitors

Summary: A facile and time-saving electrochemical etching method is developed to synthesize F-free and Cl-containing Ti3C2Tx. Sonification alone is able to delaminate Ti3C2Tx without using any hazardous organic intercalant. The obtained Ti3C2Tx flakes exhibit suitable size and stability, and show excellent performance in supercapacitors and hybrid capacitors.

Besides, the asymmetrical supercapacitor also exhibits a high specific capacitance, long-term stable lifespan, and maximum energy density, making it a promising energy storage application.

MOFs template derived Co/Fe binary phosphide nanocomposite embedded in ternary-doped carbon matrix for efficient water splitting

Summary: In this study, transition metal phosphides (TMPs) were prepared as highly efficient electrocatalysts using a simple and controllable strategy. The optimized ceramic material CoFeP@NSOC-400 showed remarkable bifunctional electrocatalytic performances, with low overpotentials for HER and OER in an alkaline electrolyte. Furthermore, when loaded on a conductive nickel foam, CoFeP@NSOC-400 exhibited superior performance in water splitting with negligible degradation over extended operation. These results highlight the potential of CoFeP@NSOC derived by MOFs through pyrolysis-phosphating as ideal electrocatalysts for energy conversion applications.

Summary: Transition metal sulfides (TMSs) are considered as a new type of electrode material with excellent electrochemical activity, but face challenges in capacity retention and stability. In this study, porous hollow nickel-cobalt sulfides were fabricated and regulated by N-doped carbon dots (NCDs) to improve their performance. The optimized NCDs/Ni2Co1S-50 exhibited high specific capacity, outstanding energy/power density, and favorable cyclic performance. A glucose sensor based on NCDs/Ni2Co1S-50 also showed wide detection range and low detection limit.

The strategy described here allows for the incorporation of metal ions into MOF architecture, leading to the rational generation of novel multimetallic MOFs, and enables the general synthesis and study of various micro-/nanoscale MOFs in the field of energy storage.
