A CRITIC-VIKOR based robust approach to support risk management of subsea pipelines

Xinhong Li et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel approach for effective risk management of subsea pipelines, which can extract the importance of pipeline risk factors and prioritize the risk management of subsea pipelines. This approach integrates CRITIC with VIKOR to accurately quantify the risk of different pipe sections and build an index-based risk evaluation system.

Assessment of failure rates and reliability of floating offshore wind turbines

He Li et al.

Summary: A model is proposed to assess the failure rates of components of floating offshore wind turbines based on the knowledge of failure data of corresponding structures of onshore wind turbines with sufficient failure data. The results indicate that the failure rates of components of floating offshore wind turbines are higher than those of onshore devices. The model presented contributes to the risk, failure, and reliability analysis and assessment under insufficient data conditions.

Assessing resilience of urban lifeline networks to intentional attacks

Lin Han et al.

Summary: The study presents a framework for assessing the resilience of urban lifeline networks to intentional attacks, using game-theoretic models to predict strategies at Nash equilibrium and introducing a new feature 'degree of recovery' to quantify performance differences. The framework integrates functional characteristics in designing the performance response function of lifeline networks and provides a reference tool for decision-making under various scenarios.

A chemical plant protection game incorporating bounded rational attackers and distribution-free uncertainties

Laobing Zhang et al.

Summary: The study explores chemical plant protection using game theory, dividing attackers into rational and bounded rational categories and proposing a new approach to the game. The model takes into account uncertainties in attacker parameters and assumes attackers play higher payoff strategies. A case study shows that the defender's equilibrium strategy in this model is robust against different attacker behaviors.

A failure analysis of floating offshore wind turbines using AHP-FMEA methodology

He Li et al.

Summary: An AHP-FMEA methodology is proposed to analyze failure causes of floating offshore wind turbines, introducing expert opinions to generate a risk index. Preventive and corrective actions are suggested to reduce the impact of failures, ultimately minimizing catastrophic failures. A comparison study is conducted to validate the method's creativity and feasibility.

Optimal defense-attack strategies between M defenders and N attackers: A method based on cumulative prospect theory

Chen Lin et al.

Summary: This research investigates the system defense of M defenders against N attackers, modeling the problem as a defense-attack game based on cumulative prospect theory. Risk attitudes of defenders and attackers are considered, with analysis of cooperative and non-cooperative behaviors impacting optimal resource allocation. Numerical experiments are conducted for illustration.

An agent-based clustering framework for reliable satellite networks

Sunyue Geng et al.

Summary: Agent technology is utilized to model satellites as autonomous and responsive agents to handle diverse demands in satellite networks. The proposed framework incorporates clustering technique and game theory to address issues related to efficiency, scalability, and management complexity in large-scale networks. The hierarchical structure and novel efficiency indicator play crucial roles in assessing and optimizing network performance, while the clustering network framework and collaborative routing scheme contribute to stability, scalability, and optimal routing solutions. Overall, the proposed framework demonstrates superior reliability improvement, energy efficiency, and low network delay compared to existing algorithms.

Resource allocation among multiple targets for a defender-attacker game with false targets consideration

Xiaoxiong Zhang et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the optimal resource allocation between the defender and attacker in multiple target scenarios, examining the balance between target intelligence and attack efforts. Results indicate that increasing intelligence competition intensity leads to reduced attacker resources, while a zero-sum game with shared preferences results in the worst losses for the defender.

Public-private collaborations in emergency logistics: A framework based on logistical and game-theoretical concepts

Florian Diehlmann et al.

Summary: This study contributes to the research field by evaluating public-private collaboration in emergency logistics. A framework for public-private emergency collaborations is developed, roles of public and private actors are characterized, and an overview of existing PPECs and their challenges is provided. The game-theoretic PPEC model sheds light on partners' motivations, participation constraints, strategic contributions, and reputational effects in emergency collaborations.
