Rapid removal of fungicide thiram in aqueous medium by electro-Fenton process with Pt and BDD anodes

Moussa Mbaye et al.

Summary: The electro-Fenton process was used to efficiently degrade and mineralize the fungicide thiram, with the study finding that using a BDD anode resulted in higher mineralization efficiency compared to a Pt anode, leading to almost complete removal of organic carbon from the thiram solution.

Assessment of the electro-Fenton pathway for the removal of naphthalene from contaminated waters in remote regions

Rebecca McQuillan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effectiveness of the electro-Fenton reaction for treating wastewater contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, particularly in remote regions. The results show that naphthalene can be fully removed in less than 3 hours, and a kinetic model is presented to predict treatment outcomes accurately under varying operating conditions. Optimal operating conditions for the electro-Fenton pathway were found to be at an applied current of 5 mA and an iron(II) concentration of 0.06 mM, resulting in low specific energy consumption suitable for remote regions.
