The concomitant diagnosis of fibromyalgia and connective tissue disorders: A systematic review

Najla Alsiri et al.

Summary: A systematic review was conducted to investigate the overlap in diagnostic prevalence and symptomatic features between fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) and connective tissue disorders (hypermobile EhlersDanlos Syndrome (hEDS), Hypermobility Spectrum disorders (HSD) and Generalized Joint Hypermobility (GJH)). The review found a high prevalence of overlapping diagnoses of hEDS/HSD and FMS, as well as similarities in many symptomatic features. Clinicians should consider both conditions for accurate diagnosis and management.
