Determination of non-freezing water in different nonfouling materials by differential scanning calorimetry

Guanglong Ma et al.

Summary: Nonfouling materials with strong hydration have been synthesized and compared to poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) in terms of their non-freezing water. The study shows that zwitterionic polymers have higher water binding capacities than PEG, attributed to their strong electrostatic interactions.

Synthesis and micellar property of amphiphilic brush-arm star copolymers via living ROMP

Chulu Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, norbornene macromonomers with PS or PtBA side chains were synthesized using a combination of ATRP and click reactions. The resulting linear and star-shaped brush block copolymers showed the ability to self-assemble into spherical micelles in solution. Interestingly, star diblock copolymers exhibited more stable properties compared to linear analogues, with less sensitivity to changes in composition.
