Electrochromic and photovoltaic properties of benzothiadiazole-based donor-acceptor conjugated polymers with oligo(ethylene glycol) side chains

Shiying Qi et al.

Summary: Introducing oligo(ethylene glycol) (OEG) chains into conjugated polymers can effectively control the optical properties and enhance the electrochromic and photovoltaic performance. The novel PDTBF polymers exhibit fast switching speed, high coloration efficiencies, and wider optical bandgaps, showing promising potential for green solvent processing.

Black-to-Transmissive Electrochromism in π-Conjugated Polymer-Based Materials and Devices

Shuanma Yan et al.

Summary: Electrochromic materials, especially black materials that can switch reversibly between black and transmissive states, have great potential in commercial applications. Many black electrochromic materials and devices have been developed in recent decades, including the black-to-transmissive and transmissive-to-black switching. This review focuses on the development of black-to-transmissive electrochromism in pi-conjugated polymer-based materials.

Three in one sensor: a fluorometric, colorimetric and paper based probe for the selective detection of mercury(ii)

Emine Gul Cansu Ergun

Summary: In this study, a novel donor-acceptor-donor-type conjugated molecule based on 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene and tetrahydrophenazine was used as a turn-off fluorescence sensor for the first time, specifically for detecting mercury ions. The sensor exhibited almost complete fluorescence quenching and changed color upon interaction with Hg2+ ions, serving as both a fluorescence and chromogenic sensor. Under acidic conditions, the sensor showed increased sensitivity with a lower limit of detection.
