Epidemiology of Foodborne Disease Outbreaks Caused by Nontyphoidal Salmonella in Zhejiang Province, China, 2010-2019

Summary: Nontyphoidal Salmonella infection is a common cause of bacterial foodborne illness in Zhejiang Province, China. Key findings from a 10-year study show outbreaks were most commonly attributed to cross-contamination and improper storage temperature, with cooked meat products and cold-processed cakes being the main food vehicles. Actions to improve safety and quality of these products are crucial for public health intervention efforts.
