Antibacterial and safety tests of a flexible cold atmospheric plasma device for the stimulation of wound healing

Summary: Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) devices can be used as an alternative antimicrobial treatment for chronic wounds, showing good efficacy against Staphylococcus aureus but less effective on dermal samples. CAP treatment did not affect cellular activity or DNA integrity of human dermal samples. Treatment with CAP can lead to a temporarily increased local skin temperature and increased erythema.
