Effects of extraction methods on the structural characteristics and functional properties of dietary fiber extracted from kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa)

Kunli Wang et al.

Summary: Different extraction methods were used to extract soluble and insoluble dietary fiber from kiwifruits, and the fiber samples were characterized using various analysis methods. The results showed that the extraction method had an impact on the structure, thermal stability, molecular weight, and monosaccharide composition of the dietary fiber. Some samples exhibited higher physiological functions, indicating their potential as functional food ingredients.

Genomic Characteristics and Comparative Genomics Analysis of Two Chinese Corynespora cassiicola Strains Causing Corynespora Leaf Fall (CLF) Disease

Boxun Li et al.

Summary: The study presents high-quality genome sequences of two Chinese virulent strains of C. cassiicola, revealing different selective pressures and metabolic gene families between strains. Secreted protein analysis suggests a correlation between pathogenicity and quantities of secreted enzymes, with the Philippine strain encoding more enzymes than the Chinese strains. Additionally, comparative genomic analysis shows potential influences of secreted CAZymes and SMs on pathogenicity in rubber tree plantations.
