Quorum Quenching Activity of the PGPR Bacillus subtilis UD1022 Alters Nodulation Efficiency of Sinorhizobium meliloti on Medicago truncatula

Amanda Rosier et al.

Summary: Research on plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) reveals the importance of interspecies interactions between bacteria in affecting plant growth activities, which may be common in the rhizosphere. By using a tri-trophic model system, indirect influences between different bacteria are demonstrated, aiding in the development of sustainable solutions in agriculture.

Detection, Structural Elucidation, and Biological Effects of Diverse N-Acyl-homoserine Lactone Signaling Molecules in the Plant-Promoting Endophytic Bacterium Rhizobium oryzihabitans M15

Juanjuan Zhao et al.

Summary: A QS system was identified in R. oryzihabitans M15, and the activity of AHLs was detected. Five AHL analogues were identified using LC-MS, with N-(3R-hydroxy-7-cis-tetradecanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone being the most dominant. Furthermore, the rosI mutant significantly impacted growth, EPS production, biofilm formation, and motility.
