The dynamic characteristics of pure-quartic solitons and soliton molecules

Xiaoyan Liu et al.

Summary: In this paper, the dynamical characteristics of pure-quartic solitons (PQSs) generated in mode-locked fiber lasers are studied, and the bilinear forms and solutions of the fourth-order nonlinear Schrodinger equation (FNLSE) in optical fiber systems are obtained using Hirota's bilinear method. An interesting phenomenon of PQS molecular interaction is found, and soliton-asymmetric soliton molecules are obtained by parameters control.

Non-degenerate multi-rogue waves and easy ways of their excitation

Chong Liu et al.

Summary: In multi-component systems, multiple rogue waves can be excited simultaneously using simple initial conditions, which is in contrast with the case of a single nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The higher variety of rogue waves in multi-component systems allows for a larger family of non-degenerate rogue waves.

Pfaffian, breather, and hybrid solutions for a (2+1)-dimensional generalized nonlinear system in fluid mechanics and plasma physics

Chong-Dong Cheng et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a (2 + 1)-dimensional generalized nonlinear system in fluid mechanics and plasma physics, deriving and proving Nth-order Pfaffian solutions using the Pfaffian technique. First- and second-order breather solutions are obtained based on these solutions. Additionally, Y-type and X-type breather solutions are constructed. The influence of the system's coefficients on these breathers is investigated, and hybrid solutions composed of breathers and solitons are derived. Interactions between Y/X-type breathers and Y-type solitons are graphically illustrated, and the influence of the system's coefficients on these interactions is demonstrated.

Summary: In this paper, a class of novel reduced nonlocal reverse-spacetime integrable modified Korteweg-de Vries equations is presented through two group reductions of the Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur matrix spectral problems. Soliton solutions are generated from the reflectionless Riemann-Hilbert problems by taking advantage of the distribution of eigenvalues, where eigenvalues could equal adjoint eigenvalues.

Formation and interaction of multi-dimensional electrostatic ion-acoustic solitons in two-electron temperature plasmas

Muhammad Shohaib et al.

Summary: In this study, ion-acoustic waves in an unmagnetized collisionless plasma were investigated, and the characteristics of ion-acoustic structures, including solitary waves and the interaction of ion-acoustic waves, were examined. It was found that the ratio of number density of cold to hot electrons and the non-Maxwellian nature of cold electrons have significant effects on the propagation characteristics of individual solitons and the interaction time of ion-acoustic solitons. Additionally, it was observed that the interaction speed of solitons for flat-topped distribution is faster than that for kappa and Maxwellian distributions.

Summary: In this paper, the matrix Lakshmanan-Porsezian-Daniel equation in a Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin chain is studied, and the first-, second- and third-order vector breathers are derived using the generalized Darboux transformation method. The propagation of the first- and second-order vector breathers is shown, along with an analysis of the influence of higher-order linear and nonlinear effects on them. Periodic propagation of complex-valued hyperbolic-cosine-Gaussian solitons and breathers with complicated light field structure in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media

Shuang Shen et al.

Summary: In this study, the propagation characteristics of complex-valued hyperbolic-cosine-Gaussian (CVHCG) beams in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media were investigated. The CVHCG beams exhibited unique propagation features in different forms, such as Gaussian-like, nearly flat-topped, multi-peak, and four-peak forms. They can form shape-invariant solitons and breathers, as well as shape-variant high-order spatial solitons and breathers. The beam width and light intensity pattern of the CVHCG beams always change periodically.
