Semi-implicit finite-difference methods to study the spin-orbit- and coherently-coupled spinor Bose-Einstein condensates

Paramjeet Banger et al.

Summary: We develop time-splitting finite-difference methods to study spin-orbit-coupled spinor Bose-Einstein condensates with coherent coupling. The split equations involving kinetic energy and spin-orbit-coupling operators are solved using implicit Backward-Euler and semi-implicit Crank-Nicolson methods. The methods are explicitly developed for pseudospin-1/2, spin-1, and spin-2 condensates. Results obtained with these methods are in agreement with popular methods and confirm the emergence of different phases in spin-orbit-coupled condensates.

FORTRESS: FORTRAN programs to solve coupled Gross-Pitaevskii equations for spin-orbit coupled spin-f Bose-Einstein condensate with spin f =1 or 2

Paramjeet Banger et al.

Summary: This article provides updated versions of FORTRAN 90/95 programs parallelized with OpenMP for numerically studying the ground states and/or dynamics of homogeneous or trapped spin-1 or spin-2 Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) with anisotropic spin-orbit (SO) coupling. The coupled sets of three or five Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equations for spin-1 or spin-2 BEC are solved using a time-splitting Fourier spectral method.

FORTRESS: FORTRAN programs for solving coupled Gross-Pitaevskii equations for spin-orbit coupled spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate

Pardeep Kaur et al.

Summary: This article introduces a numerical scheme to study the static and dynamic properties of spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates with spin-orbit coupling, providing codes and numerical results for comparison and analysis. Several conclusions about ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin-1 BECs are drawn based on the results.

Spin-1 spin-orbit- and Rabi-coupled Bose-Einstein condensate solver

Rajamanickam Ravisankar et al.

Summary: This paper presents OpenMP versions of FORTRAN programs for solving the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a harmonically trapped three-component spin-1 spinor Bose-Einstein condensate. The programs include different forms of spin-orbit and Rabi couplings in 1D and 2D spatial dimensions, utilizing split-step Crank-Nicolson discretization for imaginary- and real-time propagation. The programs can calculate stationary states, BEC dynamics, and various physical quantities, with outputs such as wave function, energy, and density profiles.

Spontaneous spatial order in two-dimensional ferromagnetic spin-orbit coupled uniform spin-1 condensate solitons

S. K. Adhikari

Summary: In this study, spontaneous spatial order in stripe and super-lattice solitons in a Rashba spin-orbit coupled spin-1 ferromagnetic Bose-Einstein condensate is demonstrated. The type of solitons changes with the strength of the SO coupling, with different types of solitons found for weak, intermediate, and large SO coupling strengths.

Multiring, stripe, and superlattice solitons in a spin-orbit-coupled spin-1 condensate

S. K. Adhikari

Summary: Exotic stable quasi-two-dimensional solitons are demonstrated in a Rashba or a Dresselhaus spin-orbit (SO)-coupled hyperfine spin-1 trapless antiferromagnetic Bose-Einstein condensate using the mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation. The solitons exhibit different structures and patterns based on the strength of the SO coupling, ranging from intrinsic vorticity to multiring structures with superlattice and stripe solitons.
