The Repulsive Casimir-Type Forces of a Weakly Interacting Bose-Einstein Condensate Gas

Pham The Song

Summary: Using quantum field theory in the one-loop approximation, we studied the finite-size effect of quantum fluctuation energy of a weakly interacting Bose-Einstein condensate gas confined between two parallel plates in a three-dimensional rectangular space. The results show the presence of a repulsive Casimir-type force when either Zaremba boundary condition or anti-periodic boundary condition is imposed. The findings are obtained in both grand canonical ensemble and canonical ensemble.

Universal quantum effect of two-body correlation in a weakly interacting Bose gas

Pham The Song

Summary: Based on the Cornwall-Jackiw-Tomboulis (CJT) effective action approach and the requirement to preserve the Goldstone theorem within two-loop approximation, this study investigates the universal quantum effect related to the two-body correlation in a homogeneous weakly interacting Bose gas at zero temperature. The state equations for the condensate fraction, energy density, chemical potential, and sound speed are obtained as series expansions of the gas parameter.

The Condensed Fraction of a Homogeneous Dilute Bose Gas Within the Improved Hartree-Fock Approximation

Nguyen Van Thu et al.

Summary: Motivated by a recent experiment, this study investigates the quantum depletion density of a homogeneous dilute Bose gas. By using an improved Hartree-Fock approximation and the Cornwall-Jackiw-Tomboulis effective action approach, the condensed fraction is obtained and compared with experimental data, showing a good agreement in a small gas parameter region.

The Casimir Effect in a Dilute Bose Gas in Canonical Ensemble within Improved Hartree-Fock Approximation

Nguyen Van Thu

Summary: The Casimir effect in a dilute Bose gas confined between two parallel plates is investigated at zero temperature using the Cornwall-Jackiw-Tomboulis effective action approach within the improved Hartree-Fock approximation in the canonical ensemble. Fixing the particle number in the canonical ensemble leads to significant changes in the Casimir energy and force, which decay according to a half-integer power law. The study also considers the relationship between the Casimir force and scattering length.
