Novel Approach to the Treatment of Gypseous Soil-Induced Ettringite Using Blends of Non-Calcium-Based Stabilizer, Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag, and Metakaolin

Khaled Ibrahim Azarroug Ehwailat et al.

Summary: This study investigated the suitability of various materials for the stabilization of gypseous soil, showing that M-MK, M-GGBS, and M-GGBS-MK were effective in reducing swelling rates and increasing soil strength. SEM and EDX analysis demonstrated no formation of ettringite in samples stabilized with M-MK, M-GGBS, and M-GGBS-MK, suggesting their suitability for gypseous soil stabilization.
