Intermolecular Interactions of Organic Fluorine Seen in Perspective

Jason C. Cole et al.

Summary: In this study, the impact of different types of fluorine interactions on molecular packing was assessed. The results revealed that there are influential fluorine interactions, which are not necessarily the strongest. It was also noted that despite the low polarizability of fluorine, its intramolecular environment can greatly influence its interactions. Additionally, the amphiphilic nature of the trifluoromethyl group was observed. This objective analysis of organic fluorine interactions yielded many valuable insights.

Characterization of Competing Halogen- and Hydrogen-Bonding Motifs in Simple Mixed Dimers of HCN and HX (X = F, Cl, Br, and I)

Morgan A. Perkins et al.

Summary: This study presents the first systematic comparison of hydrogen- and halogen-bonded configurations of the HCN/HX mixed dimer. A total of eleven different minima were identified, with the relative energy of the halogen-bonded local minima becoming more competitive with the global minimum as the atomic radius of the halogen increases.

Molecular Tailoring Approach for Estimating Individual Intermolecular Interaction Energies in Benzene Clusters

Mini Bharati Ahirwar et al.

Summary: This study introduces a molecular tailoring method for estimating hydrogen bond energies and extends it to evaluating the interaction energies in benzene clusters. The calculated values were found to be reliable based on comparison with actual calculated values, with only a small difference observed.
