Highly Conductive p-Type Transparent Conducting Electrode with Sulfur-Doped Copper Iodide

Kyunghan Ahn et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of highly conductive transparent p-type sulfur-doped CuI (CuI:S) thin film using a liquid-iodination method with a thiol additive. The CuI:S film exhibits a remarkably high electrical conductivity and optical transmittance, achieving a record-high figure of merit (FOM) value. The CuI:S electrode is successfully utilized in transparent electronic devices.

Key Roles of Trace Oxygen Treatment for High-Performance Zn-Doped CuI p-Channel Transistors

Ao Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of trace O-2 on Zn-doped copper iodide thin-film transistors, showing significant improvement in electrical performance. Optimal TFTs exhibit high field-effect hole mobility, high on/off current ratio, and reduced hysteresis, providing a basis for high-performance optoelectronic devices using low-cost solution process.

Dynamics of exciton-polariton emission in CuI

Evgeny Krueger et al.

Summary: The temperature-dependent spectral and dynamical properties of free exciton-polariton and bound exciton emission in copper iodide bulk single crystals were analyzed, revealing different decay times and localization energy dependencies. The observation of characteristic line shapes and defect densities provides insights into the behavior of excitons in CuI crystals over a wide temperature range.

p-Type Doping and Alloying of CuI Thin Films with Selenium

Philipp Storm et al.

Summary: Intentional selenium doping can systematically adjust the carrier density of CuI thin films, while transparency and crystallinity remain unaffected. The solubility limit of selenium in CuI is about 1%, with major crystalline changes observed when exceeding this limit.

Evidence for oxygen being a dominant shallow acceptor in p-type CuI

P. Storm et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of oxygen as an acceptor and its diffusion through Al2O3 and CuI on the conductivity of PLD grown CuI thin films. Oxygen supply during capping growth also affected the transparency and morphology of CuI films, challenging the idea that intrinsic effects determine the conductivity of CuI thin films.

Local inhomogeneities resolved by scanning probe techniques and their impact on local 2DEG formation in oxide heterostructures

M-A Rose et al.

Summary: The lateral inhomogeneities in the formation of 2D electron gases (2DEG) were studied at LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interfaces on STO (100) single crystals with c-AFM and s-SNOM. Different substrate terminations were found to affect the formation of 2DEG. Non-destructive techniques like c-AFM and s-SNOM were used to identify local 2DEG formation and link macroscopic low-temperature transport behavior to nanoscopic origins.
