On the thermodynamic consistency of non-random hydrogen bonding lattice-fluid model for multicomponent mixtures

A. Baldanza et al.

Summary: The compressible lattice-fluid Equation of State (EoS) models are widely used, but face issues regarding thermodynamic consistency. The Non-Random Hydrogen Bonding (NRHB) lattice-fluid model overcomes these limitations and demonstrates better thermodynamic consistency.

Predictive Approach for the Solubility and Permeability of Binary Gas Mixtures in Glassy Polymers Based on an NETGP-NRHB Model

Antonio Baldanza et al.

Summary: The NETGP-NRHB lattice-fluid model is used to describe the sorption thermodynamics of penetrants in amorphous polymer-penetrant mixtures. A self-consistent framework is proposed to predict the permeability of light gas binary mixtures in glassy polymer membranes using gradients of NETGP-NRHB penetrant chemical potentials as driving forces. The approach is validated against solubility and permeability data of various binary and pure component subsystems, showing good agreement with experimental literature data.

Modelling Sorption Thermodynamics and Mass Transport of n-Hexane in a Propylene-Ethylene Elastomer

Daniele Tammaro et al.

Summary: The sorption behavior of n-hexane vapor in a commercial propylene-ethylene elastomer was experimentally determined and interpreted using a Non Random Lattice Fluid (NRLF) Equation of State model. The study also investigated sorption kinetics and determined values of mutual diffusivity, providing insights for optimizing post polymerization processes of polyolefin elastomers involving solvents.
