LINC00173 facilitates tumor progression by stimulating RAB1B-mediated PA2G4 and SDF4 secretion in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Shi-Wei He et al.

Summary: An increasing number of studies have found that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) play crucial roles in driving the progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Specifically, high expression of LINC00173 indicates a poor prognosis in NPC patients. Knockdown of LINC00173 significantly inhibits NPC cell proliferation, migration and invasion in vitro. LINC00173 interacts with RAB1B in the cytoplasm and facilitates the extracellular secretion of PA2G4 and SDF4 proteins, which are involved in the aggressive phenotype of NPC induced by LINC00173 overexpression.

Underexpression of LINC00173 in TCF3/PBX1-Positive Cases Is Associated With Poor Prognosis in Children With B-Cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Summary: The study revealed that LINC00173 underexpression in BCP-ALL patients is associated with poor prognosis, especially in cases with the TCF3/PBX1 fusion gene. The low expression of this gene is also linked to unfavorable clinical outcomes in other types of cancer.

Identification of expression of CCND1-related lncRNAs in breast cancer

Bashdar Mahmud Hussen et al.

Summary: Cyclin D1 has been found to be regulated by long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in breast cancer. In this study, two CCND1-related lncRNAs, HOTTIP and CBR3-AS1, were found to be up-regulated in breast cancer tissues. These lncRNAs could potentially serve as markers for breast cancer.

LncRNA signature in colorectal cancer

Soudeh Ghafouri-Fard et al.

Summary: Colorectal cancer is a common cancer with unclear underlying causes in most cases. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the initiation, progression, and metastasis of CRC. Dysregulation of certain lncRNAs in CRC cells and tissues may serve as diagnostic and prognostic markers, and their involvement in autophagy regulation also suggests a potential role in modulating CRC cells' response to chemotherapy.
