We propose a cascaded axis-aligned single mode-four mode-single mode (SFS) fiber structure filter as an all-optical pulse shaper. Different intensity profiles of pulse shapers can be achieved by adjusting the parameters of the cascaded SFS fiber structures. We design and obtain flat-top, triangular, and parabolic pulse shapers using cascaded axis-aligned SFS fiber structure filters at different input pulse widths, followed by characterizations. This design offers a simple and competitive way to implement optical arbitrary waveform generators.
We proposed a cascaded axis-aligned single mode-four mode-single mode (SFS) fiber structure filter as an all-optical pulse shaper.
