Active quasi-BIC optical vortex generators for ultrafast switching

Yuhao Wu et al.

Summary: By utilizing the topological property of photonic bands and silicon's nonlinear dynamics, we have achieved optically switchable vortex beam generation. The nontrivial topological nature of the active generators expands the applications of BIC, such as ultrafast vortex beam generation, high-capacity optical communication, and mode-division multiplexing.

E-Band Metasurface-Based Orbital Angular Momentum Multiplexing and Demultiplexing

Hyeongju Chung et al.

Summary: This work proposes and experimentally demonstrates a scheme for OAM multiplexing and demultiplexing at the E-band frequency using a single metasurface structure. It can generate multiple coaxial OAM beams and receive information from each beam, providing a new route for high-capacity and compact free-space communication systems.

A Varifocal Graphene Metalens for Broadband Zoom Imaging Covering the Entire Visible Region

Shibiao Wei et al.

Summary: The graphene metalens is a novel broadband varifocal lens that covers the entire visible spectrum and can continuously tune the focal lengths for different wavelengths. By laterally stretching the lens, it can achieve over 20% focal length tuning range for red, green, and blue light, demonstrating great potential for applications.

High tolerance detour-phase graphene-oxide flat lens

Shibiao Wei et al.

Summary: The new implementation of detour phase graphene flat lens allows for flexible adjustment of annular number and width, achieving the same focal length without significant distortions. This can significantly weaken the requirement of the nanofabrication system, which is important for the development of large-scale flat lenses in industry applications.
